·         Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy urged the UNSC(United Nations security council) to act against Russia ,strikes on civilian that have once more brought winter's darkness and freezing to Ukrainian cities.

·         On Wednesday, Russia launched a missile bombardment over Ukraine, resulting 10 deaths. the forced shutdown of nuclear power plants, and widespread interruptions in the provision of water and electricity.

·         Moldavia asserted that the missile barrage was creating extensive blackouts, and its pro-EU president Maia Sandu charged that Russia had left her nation "in the dark."

·         European Union member states were unable to reach consensus on a price restriction for Russian seaborne oil under the G7 programme on Wednesday. 

·         The discussion will now resume, according to EU diplomats. 

·         On Thursday morning, EU representatives gathered in Brussels. 

·         The move is a part of sanctions aimed at decreasing Moscow's income from oil exports so that it has less money to support the invasion of Ukraine.

 

·         UN Political Affairs Chief Rosemary DiCarlo said on Wednesday that an exchange of 35 Russian and 36 Ukrainian prisoners was positive development in light of the "sad news" of Russian attacks on Ukraine.

·         European cities were contacted to provide additional generators to Ukraine in order to help it get through the winter in reaction to Russian strikes on the nation's electrical infrastructure. The Ukrainian energy grid was once again under attack as Roberta Metsola, the head of the European Parliament, pleaded for generators to be deployed to that nation.

·         A Russian court on Wednesday increased the prison term of opposition lawmaker Ilya Yashin, who is facing a 10-year term for criticising president Vladimir Putin's invasion on Ukraine. In Russia, where the majority of opposition activists are either imprisoned or exiled, the 39-year-old member of the Moscow city council is accused as part of a historically stern campaign against dissent. He may serve up to 10 years in prison if he is proven guilty.
